Lockdown level 3 from 1st of June. What you can expect

Although it remains a time of extreme caution, we look forward to greater freedom under Level 3 of the Lockdown from the 1st of June. Here is what we can expect:

Economic sectors permitted - all economic activity is resuming except those with high transmission risk such as personal care and tourism. Restaurants can still only offer take-out food collection.

Retail permitted - all retail will open with strict social distancing and health protocols. Cigarette sales remain prohibited, but alcohol will be sold under strict conditions and only on allocated days.

Movement of people - the curfew is lifted, but we may only travel for work, to purchase goods, seek medical care or attend schools and universities. Hotspots will have added restrictions.

Exercise - this will now be permitted at any time during the day, but not in groups.

Public gatherings - remains prohibited except for funerals with a maximum of 50 people. Churches, temples, mosques, synagogues, and recognised places of worship can resume with a maximum amount of 50 people. All will be subject to strict social distancing and health and safety protocols.

Transport - all public transport may operate. Limited domestic air travel for work will resume. People working or studying overseas can return but must follow the required regulations.

Schools and universities - grades 7 and 12 are set to return on the 1st of June, subject to strict social distancing and safety regulations. Universities are also expected to start a gradual opening.

A reminder to save the Coronavirus WhatsApp number in your phone by sending 'HI' to 0600 123 456 for regular updates. Please also store the 24-hour Coronavirus Public Hotline number, 0800 029 999 in case of emergency.

Real estate expects more freedom of movement to enable buyers to view property subject to strict conditions and Seeff has already introduced vital Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols to be followed.
