Maintenance in a sectional title apartment building is often an issue because there are many levels to go through before any work can be done. That means that maintenance within an apartment might be delayed due to the external work which needs to be done.

External maintenance issues are not the responsibility of the property owner. Outside building work and maintenance must be attended to by the body corporate, managing agents or trustees and must be approved by following the correct process before anything can be attended to.

The first level is to contact the maintenance team together with the agency, who will notify the property owner, building manager, managing agents and portfolio manager who is managing the building so that the trustees can be notified.
